Upgrade for webtrees
We have just upgraded all our installations to the latest version of webtrees. Version 1.0.6 was released on 6th December 2010 and included a number of bug fixes, but importantly a significant change to the terminology used in setting access to groups of users.
Where previously terms like “access”, “none”, “edit” etc were used these have now been simplified. The new terms properly describe each of your user’s “role” on your site. But remember this is only a change in terminology. The underlying access and privacy controls have not changed; only the names used for them. Here is a table showing the old and new terminology:
Old | New |
None | Visitor |
Access | Member |
Edit | Editor |
Approve | Moderator |
GEDCOM manager | Manager |
Site admin | Administrator |
The webtrees WIKI site has a useful guide to access and privacy available now which gives more details about using these: WIKI: Access & Privacy
