Like the form.
Question: Does being logged in differ the return page after sending — would I return to the individual’s page I was on before sending message?

2nd question:
Maybe pushing it — we have option for customizing the welcome message, is it possible to do same here (opt standard or customize)?
(doubling up so I don’t forget to ask)

It should return you to whatever page you were on when you clicked the “Contact” menu item, regardless of whether you are logged in or not.

Use a Custom Language file. That’s the best way to change the welcome message as well. Using the built-in setting to change the welcome message is restricted to (from memory) 256 characters (and that can’t be changed). I’d never get my ‘welcome message’ done with that limit, nor could I ‘prettify it”.

Oh, sorry, I’m referring to the text of your contact message. Is it set or can it be customized similar to the way we customize the welcome message (in Admin)? I too don’t use it, being too short but contact message doesn’t have to be that long.
Or would that be custom language file only?

Changing any text should be done in a custom language file.
The ‘welcome text’ you refer to is an anomaly. I might remove it at some point.

I like the one at your page.
The two choices at the test page – is confusing.
It should not contain 2 contactsformsI think most users just want to have their own “contact text”. Not the predefined one!
Perhabs it is only me that find this separation for contact odd!At my contact form – visitors write their question in the message box. So I do not think it is needed to have the contact form separated!

Perhaps. But it doesn’t matter. Like always the choice is configured in the Family Tree settings. You can have technical set to one user; genealogy set to a different; both set the same; or either one set to no-one. Entirely the choice of a site admin.
The use of two is more important for sites where there is one admin, but multiple trees each with their own manager. Many of my Kiwitrees.net hosting clients have me as the technical contact, but themselves for genealogical contact.
The “contact text” can be changed at any time using a “custom language file”. Its easy to do, but I am thinking about making it even easier by having it a module where admin can select a text and create their own version in any language they choose, then storing it in the database instead of files. Not sure how easy that is going to be yet though, so not soon.

Ah I see!
I also have the separation at my dads page – him as genealogy contact and me as tech.contact (not a kt page – I need to have a wt for support the danes)Well to be honest – after I installed the “float chat” (at the bottom) it is only that one my visitors use. 3 other danes installed it too and they have the same experience

This was easier than I expected ( only about two days work). So it will be included in the next release – next week. There will be a couple more language file translations for you to do because of this.
I’ll get the FAQ page ready next, then you will see better what it does. It’s aim is to make custom_language files a LOT easier, and all done within the admin area.
