Gedcom validator is not kiwitrees – This one is: https://chronoplexsoftware.com/gedcomvalidator/autoupdates/?v=3.0.1.0
And in this it will not accept the period date (And I am trying to find a date error)If I use the Batch Update ex. to replace – I can not get it to work (the one you suggest). Result: “no posts found”
Right now I am struggling with my userdefined EVEN which I can not use after the upgrade 🙁 And I would be happy to get help for this with a batch or something (it is 443 posts I have to edit in raw gedcom post)

I made a couple of suggestions using Batch update. Which one are you referring to? Did you copy / paste my code or type it?(Please start a new thread for this).

I might be able to help.
But what user defined EVEN?
Why are you struggling (nothing that should matter to this has been changed in years)?
How would batch update help with this?
(Please start a new thread for this).Nigel

Oh it was just an ex. about the batch! Otherwise I would have made a new thread 🙂 But now you have 🙂
I have marriages with a person I do not want to have in my database. A record for the marriage of the siblings for my ancestor (only reason because I do not want a lot of persons with no data and I have no interest to search for the records of the spouse).
So I have a gedcom post like this:
1 MARR Blev viet til xxxx (in english got married to xxx)
2 TYPE ReligousSince this does not work in latest version I have to do this:
1 EVEN Blev viet til xxxx (in english got married to xxx)
2 TYPE MARRThe type MARR will count in the statistic
I downloaded the gedcom file and with Notepad I search for “Blev viet til” and then handtyping the edit – can not figure out how to do it easier – since the batch tells me “no records found”

I have changed nothing in the latest version of kiwitrees that would cause this to not work if it worked OK in previous version – unless there is a problem I do not understand.
The type MARR will count in the statistic
Has this got anything to do with the problem? If yes, whhat has it got to do with the problem?

If it exists in your GEDCOM data (family tree) but cannot be found using Batch Update then you are doing something wrong. Please provide a copy of the batch Update screen with the “No records found” result showing plus all your entries in the options.

I make some image files of the issue (dunno when you changed it – it worked back in v.2 – was an accident I saw it)
Will also make an image file for the search/replace in batch.
But it will be later – no more time today 🙂

I found out what I did wrong with the batch. I had to write more than only the gedcom type
Meaning I could not do like this:
Search for 1 MARR
Replace with 1 EVENSo in this case I made this:
Search for 1 MARR Blev viet til
Replace with 1 EVEN Blev viet tilSince I do not want to spend search time and do not want these “empty” persons I still want the marriages to be counted in statistic. So I found out that the type MARR is the one I had to use. That is the reason I want to keep the MARR type in my record!
If I use MARR instead of EVEN the system want a spouse. But the issue (the search for spouse) only appears if I want to edit the record! It is not a bug or anything. It was just me who had twisted the system and now the system caught me 😛
