A while ago you asked about ideas for the sanity module. Personally I would love to have a search (only search no update) for missing media in funeral and baptise.
The reason is, here in Denmark we have so many pages where we can look after image files from churchbooks and they move these places around so the sourcedetails are often not the right one. Because of that I started to save the image files from the church books. And I try to cover all my indis with these imagefiles. So it would be a bit easier if I could look for missing “churchbook” media filesHope you can follow my idea.
I am pretty sure it is not a big one to make ๐

Hmmm, that doesn’t really fit my definition of “sanity check”. They are really problems that are “silly”, like birth recorded after death, or 200 years between birth and death…..
But have you looked at the tool “Missing data” (Administration > Family tree tools > Missing data)?
There you can find different types of missing data for a person and his family (up to as much as All relatives, for All generations).
Currently it can also include if SOUR is missing for any of the events. It should not be too hard to also add an option like that for OBJE links. Do you think that might work for you?

OK. When I coded “Missing data” I made it quite flexible so this should only take a short time to do. I should be able to send you a test file next week. ๐

It seems to work as requested. THANK YOU ๐
Can this missing data feature have som sort system?
Would be great for ex. having the event in some order. No idea for me to start adding media if I actually do not know the bapt date. So instead of scrolling down it would be nice just to sort the event ๐
Guessing it could be useful no matter which search I made ๐
But thank you for this tool ๐

Would be great for ex. having the event in some order.
To be able to sort the data in that way each result would need its own column.
For each fact or event there can be date, place, source, or media missing, or all 4.
So even for the restricted set of 12 major facts/events that might require up to 48 columns + one for the name.
The only answer I can think of would be to only allow one fact or event to be selected for each search, so the maximum would be 4 + 1 columns. Then we could probably remove the source and media options and always show date, place, source, media results in their own columns.
The search would also be slightly slower. At present we only need to search “does the fact have a birth date, birth, place, source, media, if “no” add to list. ” For sorting we would then need to look up the date ((at least) and add that also to the list. But that might be less of an issue if we are only checking a single fact/event.
Of course, for your question you would then to need do two searches, one for baptism, and then repeat for burial, instead of a single search now.
I would be interested to hear other opinions on this idea. It is easy to implement, but is it useful?

sounds complicated – if it is only me – then do not make it!
I just find it useful to sort the event result

No it’s not complicated to do. In fact in some ways it would be easier than at present, and certainly faster. I’m just keen to get feed back on the idea of limiting searches to a single missing fact at a time. Is that better or worse than the present way this tool works?
