I tried to make a link to http://www.geldersarchief.nl/

Can you give me an example that can be used on that search (manually, not with a link) that you know gives a successful result?

I think you mean a name? Try jan willem meijberg and there will be some results when you click on personen.

Try the file in the attached zip folder. This works OK for me.

    But two points:
1 – don’t forget to enable the plugin (Administration > Tools > Research links)
2 – my tests used an individual with either of these two versions of name record:

    1 NAME Jan Willem /Meijberg/
    2 GIVN Jan Willem
    2 SURN Meijberg
    1 NAME Jan Willem /Meijberg/

Then you can compare my file with yours.

    Nigel,

    The link is good.
Maybe make a FAQ how to do this.

    Thanks,

Are you referring to the research link for Gelders Archief?

In most cases users send me the details and I add them to the core system. As the admins can set which to use / not use, it’s not a major problem to have many available.

The only thing I want to do soon is identify a “default set” of research links that will be loaded at initial set up, with all others left disabled until required. I hope to do that with many modules – disabled until selected, not enabled by default.

It is important for me that kiwitrees, (either the software or the hosting), aids users to focus on their family history, and not on writing computer code or managing web servers 🙂

This is why many of the features available in kiwitrees only exist in webtrees if you can be bothered finding them from independent developers (assuming they even exist there) and updating them in addition to the main software.

    Nigel,

Yes, I was referring to the research link for Gelders Archief.
I can make a list with important research links in Holland.

Great. Please include a name that can be used to test. Also, consider whether perhaps a date of birth in the search might help in some cases.

There is always balance between too little and too much information for a good search.
