I added a gallery. Changed to /gallery for images. The group image of the Rebbes is th eoption. So my gallery shows that and your marriage registration (which is correct as you said all images will appear.)
Yours has “show description” . What’s that used for? My image doesn’thave that.

I added a note to my image. Click “show description” to see it. It only says “Test image”, but could be more.

If I understood, the note is added from the Admin > Manage Media when I do the Create and save. I’d click Edit and add the note as I would for an image on a record page.
The Rebbes image isn’t from the Gallery. It showed up from being added to the home page. If I do want to use an image from the data/media area of my site, do I need another copy for the gallery location so that I could add my notes?

You are in danger of over complicating things.
The gallery module is very simple. It just displays ALL the images stored in a given folder.
It doesn’t matter where you add the media from.
It doesn’t matter where you edit a media item from.
It doesn’t matter where I when you add notes, or anything else.It ONLY matters which folder on your server you store the media item in.

Finally got back to my Gallery on my A-D site with one image so far. However, I added the description via the Manage Media option. Shortfall is it shows the HTML coding for paragraphs. How do I add the individual image descriptions?

Might be easier to understand using more usual tetminology.
Images are the same thing whether added to gallery, an individual, or their events.
All images have title, and you can optionally add a note (better terminology than ‘description’).
Like all NOTEs in kiwitrees, there is no option to include formatting. Hence any you added will only appear in raw format.

No formatting, üst carriage return for next paragraph.

But you said ” Shortfall is it shows the HTML coding for paragraphs.“. You don’t need HTML formatting for a carriage return.
However, a gallery of images is not the place for long complex explanations, just for looking at images. So even if you do include a simple carriage return (literally), the gallery display will always combine each line into a continuous paragraph. Otherwise the text will quickly cover the image, which is not the intent of the feature.

Hope I don’t jinx things — got 2 photo galleries up and running. Cropped and framed images and added title and note. Don’t mind the blue background.
