Not sure if I have asked you before but how do we set someone as a partner instead of spouse?

    Hi Alan.
    Pretty easy.

    1. Go to their “family” page (click on one of the “View Family… ” links, or “Immediate Family” in the sidebar – not to be confused with the “Relatives” tab)
    2. In “Add new fact” select “Not married” and complete whatever details are appropriate.
Save, and accept changes as necessary.

    Thats it.

    Hi Nigel

I just tried your recommendation and find that Not Married is not one of the available options.  Does this indicate we need to upgrade our version of webtrees?

    No, not at all.

Go to admin – configure family tree – “Edit options” tab.

Under “Facts for Family records” add ” ,_NMR” (note the comma separator) to the end of the list in the box.

If you expect to use it very often, also add it to the “Quick facts”, then it will be a clickable link beside the “Add new fact” drop down, saving you from scrolling through the list to find it.

Click “Save” at the bottom of the page, and return to your family page. It should now be available. Sorry, I forget sometimes what is standard and what I’ve added to my own system.

Perfect!  Thanks for that, it worked quite well.  BTW, I found the ,_NMR was already in the Quick Facts box though not in the All Facts box so I added it there and that seems to have given us what we need.
