Taking a break from alters. The Royas – GEDCOM errors have 2 families not attached. That aside, I’m looking at “Henry FitzRoy + Isabella Bennet” as example. Notice the generic icons kiwitrees uses for gender are missing for some records. Any reason?

Mea cuppa (or whatever spelling it should be). The GEDCOM import didn’t keep images attached. I thought those were generic.

Correct. GEDCOM files are just text files, so of course they do not include images, but it does include the media object (the GEDCOM reference to the actual image).

Also correct that the silhouette icons are generic, i.e. they appear whenever there is no preferred media object / picture added.

Put those two together, and the answer should be clearer. Your imported GEDCOM file tells the browser there is an image to be used as the main image (the ‘highlighted’ image set by the tag “_PRIM y”), so no need to use a generic silhouette instead. It doesn’t know that you hadn’t uploaded the actual image files.

In place of the image you will have had an (also generic) “image not found” icon, which is more useful tyhan showing  the silhouette to hide the ‘error’.

Turns out the path to the images was lost. Reconnected. Also notice users were not proper. All except my one admin were set to Visitor for Royals, including the one for you. I reset to Manager and default person.

I expect if I did the “parsc” file correctly, PHP errors are turned on so expect I should see on site if there are any. After 3am (midnight California) Sept 01 log will be available to see.

You mentioned DATE format so am checking those while doing other stuff. Royals/Kennedys I can do online or off. Alters I’ll have to do offline as I know there are tons and tons. (Guilty).

But why was the path to the images lost?  Is this a complete re-install? Otherwise that information would not be touched by a simple GEDCOM import. Just not possible. This is a very important issue to resolve.

Did you tick the import option “Keep media objects”? It’s the only thing I know that could do this. But the instructions there are pretty clear (I believe) that most people should NOT need that option, ever.
