    GEDCOM doesn’t have a tag for a Mistress (usually female) or Lover (usually male). What do I use?

    INDI? I Was expecting a custom tag of some sort. Given The Church of Latter Day Saints ain’t recognizing anyone’s mistress or lover 🙂

    They are a person, so (IMHO) if you are going to record them they are an INDI.

    Otherwise, probably just a note.

    If the relation ship becomes an unmarried couple the system will use the title “partner”.

    Or. I suppose you could use “ASSO” and TYPE “mistress” The would require raw GEDCOM edit though.

    Personally if they were important I would as a person, or otherwise not add at all.

    Tags are for facts or events, not people.

    But I they’re just recorded as an individual, how do I show the relationship to the other person? they’re not married, they’re not common law.

    Don’t I need a act/event for the ASSO? And, what I there are children?
