I had my image issue wrong in my earlier posting.

The images are found but the thumbnails are not visible and the images do not open in kiwitrees 3.0.0. Some thumbnails are seen but not all under some kiwitrees image firewall watermark show settings. The thumbnails do seem to all work in Fancy Imagebar. All thumbnail and image files open normally using a browser or other appropriate software.

Current watermark for 2 live and 1 local WAMP setups are shown in the attachment:

The “Images without watermarks” has 4 “Show to” settings; visitors, members, managers, and none while there can be 2 additional users; editor and moderator. Are the editors and moderator users rolled into the managers?

Changing the local WAMP install “Images without watermarks” setting gives the following results.
    Images without watermarks settingResult

Show to Visitors no thumbnails seen by visitors, members, and managers
Show to Members [default setting] some but not all thumbnails seen by members and not seen my managers
Show to Managers no thumbnails seen by visitors, members, and managers
Show to None no thumbnails seen by visitors, members, and managers

The 4 watermark entries in kt_gedcom_setting reflect any changes made.

As a test, turned on the watermark options; new watermark thumbnails and images do not appear to be made.

When a JPG thumbnail or an image placeholder icon is clicked, the image box opens and says “This image failed to load”. When a TXT, DOC or DOCX image placeholder icon of is clicked, the image box opens and everything hangs up; used to default to opening in Word. Clicking on a PDF image placeholder icon works fine, they open!

Attempted fixes included export/import of GEDCOM. Reset permissions for all image and thumbnail files. Validated size of image and thumbnail files to be within published parameters.

That’s extensive testing, thank you. But I am concerned (and confused) by some of the results. It seems like multiple and contradictory results. So I would like to start unravelling it by excluding the issue of watermarks just for now. Once any other issues are cleared up we can return to watermark issues.
So please set the watermark options to no, no, no and ‘show to visitors’. This effectively turns off everything related to watermarks, making that feature completely irrelevant to any other issues.

With those settings in place do you still have issues with all or some media items?
    If so can you :
    A) show the rest of the settings from that admin media tab, especially the top section (email it if you are concerned about revealing media paths), and
    B) show me the GEDCOM data for one media object ( the 0 @Mxxxx@ record) that is not displaying correctly.

For this testing I am also assuming you are logged in as administrator. This ensures no other privacy complications are involved.

    Nigel:

Will email the files tomorrow. Been tied up with medical and book publishing issues.

    Thanks for all the help.
