One of kiwitrees’ hosted clients pointed out this problem after the upgrade to version 3.3.8:

On the login page, it used to save my login info. Now I have to enter it each time and the password is visible.

The cause is a typo in the login code that prevents browsers from recognising the password entry field. So it doesn’t use it for password memory, nor does it replace passwords with asterisks.

To fix download the zip folder attached to this post, extract the file ‘login.php’ and upload it your your web server, replacing the file of the same name in the root kiwitrees folder.

(Note: This issue does not effect sites where the kiwitrees theme is standard, and the drop down login box in the page header is used.]
