Not sure where to look to unlink the image. [A6208]

Went to find an image and it was present however not as expected. Did display of media as shown, had 9 images in media/ and shows Create – Kennedys for each image. My images are actually in media/alters.

Not sure if cause of error. If so, how do I get them where they should be? On server, they are stored correctly in their subfolder.

Record A6208 > Album tab > Edit image A6208-1.png to A6208-32.png. Received error. When I went to Mange media: listed images as shown (gee, shouldn’t have included the image). There’s tons of images Create – Kennedys. This image is one of them.

To unlink an image go to Album tab > mouse-point to the image image > Manage links

Re “Unused images” : these are images that are NOT linked to any record in the tree so not really relevant to your problem. In your case you have three trees. The option “Create – Kennedys” is to allow you to connect images to THAT tree (only) because it is NOT currently linked there. That part of the problem will go away when I fix /remove the Kennedy tree for you (later today).

I think what you want to do is

a) unlink A6208-1.png from A6208 (Use Album tab > mouse-point to the image image > Manage links for that), then

b) Use Album tab > Link to an existing image to add A6208-32.png to the same individual (A6208)

If not, please explain further.

I’ll leave it for now as there will be others. Will correct after you remove Kennedys and whatever the media error was all about.

The Kennedy GEDCOM is now removed, so things will be a bit easier.

I have found an error on your Manage media page. Not sure if it’s the same one you saw. It says:

So you need to look at the image named A00000_A19169-21.jpg directly on your server, in the kiwitrees/data/media folder. Delete it from there if you can. Also check the kiwitrees/data/media/thumbs folder as well for file of same name.

Went to manage images to find A6208???? previously shown unused Create – Kennedys, along with about another 1000! Not in subfolder alters. How do I find them all to make sure they connect to whomever they belong to?

You don’t. They were only “unused” in relation to the Kennedys tree Now that has gone they are no longer “unused”.

Found other images where I’ve seemed to filed images in wrong tree. Have been able to fix. (both are active trees so not related to previous Kennedys tree)

However, am wondering when image is attached to both husband & wife, got the same error so went to Manage Media thinking I can change file name there. Nope. Does that mean I have to unattach, rename, reattach to their family record (via marriage event or other similar)
