Hi Nigel,
I do know you are working at the nearly new release – but I would be so happy if the problem with the html blogs could be fixed. It is a general problem with all wt-blogs but not in your simpl-pages. I can not add a link in a html blog or making a <div> without writing directly in source code. It is annoying, since there is no problem doing it your page module. It is an old problem from webtrees and vs. 1.5.3 still having that problem!
Something you can fix?

Sadly the answer is no. I know what causes the problem and have researched a number of solutions but so far cannot find one that works
Somewhere there is a JavaScript conflict due to using both CKEditor (for the edit function) and jQuery (for the popup window). It doesn’t happen in other places because they do not use the jQuery pop-up window.
It is a known problem well discussed on CKEditor’s help forums. There have been many suggested solutions but none that work in our case.
But I will continue to look. One solution is to create your blog in simpl_pages (or FAQ or stories modules), then copy/paste the source code to the HTML block.

Okay – I was just hoping ๐
I just continue to make the code in source mode – but I will suggest others to use the simpl_pages to do the trick.
Stupid question – do we need to have it as popup when adding/editing blogs?
Thank you for your time!

Not stupid at all. I have been wondering the same. It is certainly worth investigating. I do think we have too many popups anyway.
But can you confirm exactly what you mean here by “blogs”? This software has no such thing. What is the kiwitrees feature you are referring to? I have assumed you mean the HTML block, but perhaps I am wrong?

OK, that’s good.
But (just for my education) are you sure? My dictionary (Google) tells me the Danish for “block” is “blok”.
A “blog” in English is “a personal website or web page on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis.” It is an abbreviation of “web log”. I would have expected the Danish translation of that to also be “blog”, just because most internet-created words are international.
A “block” in English is a rectangular (4-sided) object. In our situation it is a rectangular piece of display code to be positioned as part of a 1 or 2 column web page.
Looking at the Danish translation file (da.po) I see:
HTML block > HTML-rammen
This block > Denne blok
This block > Denne ramme
GEDCOM News block > nyhedsrammen
Message block > besked blokkenOverall “ramme” seems the most common translation of “block”, but “blok” does appear as well.
Translating “ramme” back to English gives me “frame”, which although not correct English, does make some sense in this application.I’ll leave it for you to decide what is correct or not. ๐

Frame=ramme
Area with houses with more than 1st floor=houseblock (blok)
Webblock=BlogWe could use blok for internet too – but it become more common with blog. And yes it is an adopted word from english. We also started to use “blogger” as word. One who writes articles (alot) at homepage!
Blok in danish is a word for a area with (something) – ex: Graph=Blok
In danish we have several words for same word. Google can not handle all this. We also have same word, spelled in same way but if you put it with something else – the meaning is different.
Ex: Sheep=fรฅr and getting something=fรฅr (you see – same word – but different meaning)
And I know – wt uses different words for the same thing. Guessing it is from earlier time – before we adopted the word “blog”. But the html bloks are an area of blocks=blok (like the ex. with the houses). So no matter which word we used – it will still give a correct understanding ๐ If I make a link to my articles I would use the word “blog” in my tag even that it is an area of blocks (blok) more than one (blokke)
Confused? ๐ Or do you feel like your educated ? ๐ Hehe (danish is very difficult and with no logical system)

Meaning the differencies with the use of frames and blocks is actually okay. And to save me for edit all – Just keep it like that – perhabs one day…… I would have a big wish to change it for more common and modern danish ๐
