Starting to get a message from Google saying “This page can’t load Google Maps correctly.” Do you own this website?
I’ve been away for two weeks so cannot say when it started. I have made no changes while I have been away.

Have you heard of any recent changes from Google?
No, I haven’t, but there’s no doubt the issue will somehow be related to an account issue. A couple of ideas:
- Try re-entering your Google API code into kiwitrees, just in case.
- Check that your CC details are up-to-date on your Google account, i.e. CC date etc still valid
- Check that your API number is still connected to your account.
If none of those work I can only recommend contacting Google – not a prospect I’d particularly relish myself 🙁

I had the same problem a couple of months ago. I did not have credit card details on my Google account and I suspect this is the primary reason why Google decided to suddenly stop the service from working – although like you I had an API key and it had always worked. So I added my credit card details and it STILL didn’t work. It seems that it is necessary – AFTER having updated the credit card details on the Google account – to recreate AND re-activate the APIkey (following the steps provided on the Google page tomwhich you are linked from the original arror message. So I re-copied and pasted th API key from the Google site to Admim-Tools- Google Maps, activated the APIkey again – following the guide on the Google page, cleared cache and everything worked again as it did before – and pleased to say I still haven’t been billed!

That sounds like good advice, Ron.
When you say ”I still haven’t been billed” do you mean that literally, or that bills have been for zero amounts? Not an important issue, just interesting.
I get an ”invoice” every two months, but always for $0.00 exactly! I of course, always pay promptly 😃

Don’t despair! I had the same message. What does the Java Script console say? (click red x top right – red message should appear at bottom). In my case it said ‘ApiNotActivatedMapError’. I had simply failed to activate the API key correctly – maybe the same for you, in which case go back to the Google page that the original error message directed you to and follow the instructions for activating the API key. I agree it seems unnecessarily complicated.
