I still havent closed down the phpfaq. I have looked at the new design of kiwi faq and I miss somehow the ability to make levels. Is there a chance (a way) to do that?

Thinking of the way you made it and I would love to have the ability to open the faq in levels by just clicking down 🙂 (Hope you understand otherwise I draw it for you)

I think it should be possible using just html and css on the FAQ page.

You would use the basic kiwitrees FAQ page for the “top” level, and put all the sub-levels for that item on the same page. using list tags (ul / li) like menus. CSS would then hide there content until you click on them. This is how the current FAQ page works.

You just need to repeat a similar format inside each FAQ “page”.

As (I estimate) more than 99% of kiwitrees / webtrees / PGV sites use almost no or extremely few FAQs it would not be a useful solution to create a complex multi-level FAQ system, IMHO.

I’ve tried a simple experiment. See if it is close or at least close enough to what you want.

Go to my personal site; select Help from the main menu; then click on “Privacy, Copyright & Cookies”.

There you should see a second level of FAQs.

That would do! Actually it can cover my needs 🙂

Yes I know that most users do not spending time making FAQ. But since I made this “danish user group” it helps me to have some kind of FAQ. It keeps me away from keep typing the same again and again 😛

How did you do it? (you know – you give me a bit and I want it all :P) In danish we say: If I get a finger then I want all the arm

I’ll email you the details. It’s just specific html in the FAQ page, plus a small update to the module and a couple of new css tags in the style sheet.

I’ll include this in the next release, but you can set your own copy up now.

(Note: happy to send it to anyone else who wants it)
