jacoline, thanks, but I fear you did not read the instructions contained in the post https://kiwitrees.net/forums/topic/how-do-languages-work/

The file you sent is based on the one from the Google Maps module. But you have added other translations into it. I started to use it, but it is too much work at my end to split these out and put them into the correct standard language file. It is also incorrectly named, as the file must be just da.po.

In fact you can ignore the Google Map file as it’s texts are now included in the core file available at GitHub (per the other post).

Your file possibly also includes texts that are not part of the core code. If that is the case they cannot be included. They need to be either part of one or more simpl_add-on packages, or your own custom language files. Do not add new texts to the file. The system cannot handle texts that are not part of the core code.

So, sorry if it is more work, but please follow the instructions and down load the standard da.po file and make your changes to that one.

I tried to dl the file but got some error (forgot which one). So I just copy/past it.

So instead I just try to do something I do not understand then you need to give me the po.file you want me to translate!

I have just done the same thing with Carmens module and it works! (meaning she gave me the po.file)

Sorry that I did not do it in the right way and gave you more work!

    Follow ALL of these steps:

    1. Go to https://github.com/kiwi3685/kiwitrees1.4.4.1/tree/master/language
    2. Click on the file name (e.g. da.po).
    3. Click on the “Raw” button near top-right of the file to display the raw code of the file on a new tab.
    4. Right-click and “save as” to your desktop as a .po file.

If you get an error message write it down and tell me what it says and when it appeared (what step).

    That looks much better 🙂

Try the attached .mo file to see if all your translations look correct. Just replace the version of same name in /language/

If that works I’ll push these files to the next release.

Thank you Nigel – sorry for the late response. Been tidy up of private stuff.

It seems okay but I do not understand that the counting age at the events are not translated. Try to look at my page and choose danish you can see the age months are in english and not in danish (same goes for version 1.5 so must be some changes Greg made in vers. 1.4.4)

    example: baptise and census

… but I do not understand that the counting age at the events are not translated.

Not sure I understand the problem. On your page for census, in Danish, I see: (Alder 2 måneder)

Is that what you are referring to? Do you see something different? If so, perhaps a caching problem?

Yes it was the caching problem. After the install of the new da file it solved the problem. Just ignore me! (I think I have to much in my head atm – sorry)

It seems that you can count on the danish translation for your upgrade! But please take it easy – do not rush 🙂

Dates not translated – just checked the da file and it is translated there.

Look here at the census; 1 February should say Februar and not February: http://www.jaconelli.dk/webtrees/individual.php?pid=I93

    The rest:
    October is Oktober
    March is Marts
    January is Januar
    May is Maj
    June is Juni
    July is Juli

In the da file it is translated to danish words
