Have event where I want to use the ASSO tag: two individuals and one family. The family didn’t work, got error (didn’t copy as it went away when I removed the F###). Is the only method to enter the couple individually?

No error other than your own. ASSO can only be used between individuals. GEDCOM definition says:
The association pointer only associates INDIvidual records to INDIvidual records.
and
An indicator to link friends, neighbours, relatives, or associates of an individualIf you are adding ASSO to an event (rather than directly to the individual kiwitrees has the facility to add two ASSOciates on the same edit screen.
Otherwise you have the option to use the “copy” feature after entering the first ASSO.

Not sure what you mean by adding two at a time. When I click ASSO on the edit screen, there’s only one field.

That’s interesting. I know there used to be two links to “Add a new associate” on each event editing screen. I’ll have to look and see where the second one disappeared to. It was handy for a number f events (two witnesses etc).

Indeed two fields would be great for the very purpose of “splitting” couples.
One other behaviour I notice, which may/may not have changed: to find the associate, you cannot start typing their name immediately (autocomplete). You must click the person icon then enter and select from list of names.
Comparison is when adding child to family, spouse to spouse, you can immediately enter part of the name and the search will begin . Saves having a click which over time, adds up 🙂

Yes, that is a bug that came over from webtrees when I split away. I have recently fixed it. Will be in the next release. Hopefully soon – but I am incredibly busy 🙁

Small price. webtrees seems quite intimidating now.
