If as you say “Most of the data for all kiwi users will probably be in own country.” then there is the option in Administration > Family trees > your tree > Hide and show called “Abbreviate place names”. You can shorten place names to only the first xx parts, (removing the country) or the last xx parts (reviewing smallest place,
