    Oh! Thanks for clarifying Nigel. She definitely refers to the item ‘Activer javascript’ (she has a French installation) as being ticked so, unlike me, I don’t think she’s confusing Java and javascript. I’ll tell her to seek out her local Mac expert as you suggest.
