THE original Canada census has LAST, First name. What I do find “problem” is one needs the window very wide to see first names. I normally use wide enough that kiwitrees shows menus and not drop down as I have lots of other stuff open (in use).
What’s amusing is I’ve read the instructions to census takers (ala 1921) and it specifically states do not use “student” or “school” and lots of other dont’s. Most of them never listened which is probably why the original form isn’t legible. Too much scribble over it. I on’t have the eyesight to try reading the census so do rely on Ancestry’s transcription.
