Excellent.

The problem is caused by using the sidebar “clippings cart” link. All sidebar tools are focussed ONLY on the data of individuals. To get a more complete export you need to use the Main menu > Clippings cart option. There you get an option to add families, and ancestors etc…. You also get a full list of what is included, so you can review it and add / delete items before you export.

I don’t know how to append the record to my my test tree, so skipping the step where I uploaded the GEDCOM and FTP the images to media directory
