Congratulation to the webtrees team on their 1st birthday. Version 1.0.0 of webtrees was released on 26th August 2011. Since that day there have been 14 new releases, each one improving on the previous. Current downloads are averaging 30+ per day, and growing with each new release. There is no sign of a slow down in the rate of improvement and growth.
The latest module “Simpl_mysqldumper” in our range of webtrees add-on modules has just been released.
It provides a link in your webtrees administration panel to your own (not included) installation of the excellent database backup tool MySQLDumper. You can use MySQLDumper for regular backups, even automated, and with the results emailed to you as well as stored on your web server.
The New Zealand Family History Fair 2011 is being held in Hamilton (the Claudelands Centre) on the weekend of 26-27 August 2011.
It looks like a great opportunity for all our NZ based clients, and anyone living in NZ with an interest in family history, to learn more about the subject. I will certainly be there.
Full details are available at http://www.nzfamilyhistoryfair.org.nz
The latest release of webtrees is now available (4th August 2011). This release contains more than 200 updates, including fixes for approximate 50 reported bugs, and numerous design improvements.
As with all webtrees releases, the upgrade process is very simple, so everybody is encouraged to do it as soon as possible.
The developers are not able to provide support fro old versions either, so another good reason to upgrade 🙂
Clients here on kiwitrees were, of course, upgraded automatically just as soon as the new version was available.
